Studiosity

What is Studiosity?
Studiosity is a service that can help you improve your academic writing skills. You can upload drafts of your essays, reports and other written assessment to Studiosity these are then reviewed by academic skills tutors and feedback, explaining how your work can be improved will be returned to you, usually within 24 hours.

Help is always on hand - Studiosity is available 24/7 365 days a year.

Feedback will cover -

  • Spelling and grammar
  • Document structure
  • Use of language
  • Argument development
  • Referencing

Feedback will NOT -

  • comment on the content of your assignment
  • it won't be able to give you an indicative grade for your work
  • not replace support from the Liaison Librarians and Learning Development Tutors.
  • proofread your draft and correct language mistakes
  • assess your work against the assessment requirements or objectives
  • provide a indicator of plagiarism.
  • check the academic credibility of your references and information sources

Each student can use the service up to 10 times during the academic year. Each submission has a word limit of 8,000 words and the Word or text document size must be under 4Mb.

Assist myUCAFind Studiosity in the Assist area of myUCA.

To upload your draft, you first need to log in to myUCA Once you're logged in, click on the 'Submit your document'.

Next, fill out the submission form. Make sure you fill out all mandatory fields and your document size is under 4Mb. You won't be able to submit your document until each section has a green tick next to it.

When you have added all the information required, click 'Submit for Review'.

You will get an email within 24 hours from Studiosity to let you know that your feedback is ready. Remember to check your Junk folder - just in case the message ends up there.

When you go to collect your document, you will see two tabs, like this:

Feedback Summary

Reviewed Document

In the top panel you'll see a link 'Submission details' where you can see the file name and any other details.

At the centre of the page, you will see the Feedback Summary, which is the overall summary of the strengths and weaknesses in your document. You'll see feedback grouped by focus areas (such as Language, Structure, Spelling and grammar).

When you're ready to view the whole thing, you can click on 'View Reviewed Document' on the left hand side, or toggle the tabs at the top. You can then click on highlighted sections of text to see specific comments in the comments bar, and filter by focus area.  If you want a copy of your document, you can click on Download PDF or Print in the top right-hand-corner.

You can download your feedback and book a tutorial with one of our Liaison Librarians or Learning Development Tutors. For more information about how we can help and to book your 1-2-1 tutorial see - Liaison Librarians and Learning Development Tutors.
